India Congratulates Barack Obama

India and the United States of America should build on the strong partnership that has been developed in recent years and strengthen our bilateral co-operation to the mutual benefit of our peoples - even as we work together to face the unprecedented common challenges at the global level relating to the changing climate, threats from the dark forces of terror, and energy, health and food security.

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has congratulated Senator Barack Obama on his election as the next President of the United States. BJP President Sri Rajnath Singh has congratulated the President-Elect of the United States of America Mr. Barack Obama on his emphatic victory in the Presidential polls. Shri Singh said that the American people have decisively voted in favour of change.
In his congratulatory message to Mr. Obama, he expressed hope that under the new regime the bilateral relations between India and the USA would usher in a new era of dynamism.
The whole world is passing through difficult times due to growing menace of terrorism and uncertain global economy. The new regime in America will have a tough task at its hand on both the economic and political front.
